Along with benefitting a very important cause\, this event provides an opportunity to pay tribute to our mothers and their memories\n\n We run/walk because:\n\n \n \n About 80\,000 women are diagnosed with a gynecological cancer in the US one every seven minutes.\n \n The five year survival rate for ovarian cancer is only 44%\, as compared to 90% for breast cancer.\n \n Girls have been diagnosed as young as 7 years old. \n \n OCAF exists in order to change these outcomes by:\n\n \n \n Educating doctors and nurses so women are not misdiagnosed.\n \n Creating awareness among women and girls of the subtle symptoms of gynecologic cancers.\n \n \n\n OCAFs Annual Teal Ribbon Run raises funds that allow us to continue to work toward a world without gynecological cancers.
