The Human Bean is hosting its annual Earth Day Giveback next Tuesday, April 22nd. On this special day, every drink sold will result in one tree planted through Trees for the Future, an international nonprofit with 30+ years of history planting trees and teaching sustainable farming practices to coffee farmers. 

The Human Bean is an official Planting Partner with Trees for the Future, having donated the 
equivalent of over 200,000 trees to-date. With the help of customers’ drink purchases at all of the coffee company’s locations on Earth Day, tens of thousands of trees are donated from the event each year. 

“We’re so grateful to be a part of this giveback and as a new store, we look forward to showing our support for the first time this year customers love coming back each year,” said Jan White, owner of The Human Bean in Winter Springs. “Coffee connects us all, and this is a special way to show our thanks for the farmers and communities that care for our beans from the very 
beginning.” 

Trees for the Future aims to plant over 1 billion trees globally by 2030. In total, over 370 million trees have been planted by the organization since 1989 — many in coffee growing regions of Africa, such as Ethiopia and Tanzania. Coffee drinkers and the industry as a whole depend on a global supply chain that starts with thriving coffee farms and a healthy environment. Trees for the Future starts from the ground up — helping farmers work their land, restoring degraded soil, fostering healthy and diverse ecosystems, and improving farmers’ incomes and food security.
